WINWARD GEORGE “WIN” BRADSHAW

Mr. Winward George “Win” Bradshaw, age 86 of Crockett, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the East Texas Medical Center-Tyler. Mr. Bradshaw was born September 05, 1923 in Grapeland, Texas and had lived in Crockett most of his lifetime. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II as Sergeant First Class. Mr. Bradshaw was also a retired veteran from the United States Army National Guard having served as First Sergeant for 25 years. He had worked as a car salesman for King Motor Company and had served as Officer for the Houston County Veterans Service for 25 years. Mr. Bradshaw was a supporter of Crockett Merchants Little League, 15 year member and past president of the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge, lifetime member of the National Guard Association of Texas, lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post # 134. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crockett. Survivors include his wife Joyce Bradshaw, of Crockett; children Vicki Lynne Bradshaw, of Jacksonville, Michael Win Bradshaw, of Spring and their mother Gwynne Bryce, of Trinity, Eddie Kendrick and wife Karen, Christi Short and husband Clay, all of Crockett; grandchildren Mason Short, Chaice Short, Erin Kendrick, Lauren Newsom and Heather Newsom; sister Pauline Aishman, of Fort Worth; special nieces Cynthia Yahr and Glendia Smoldas, both of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; many special friends including; James Waldrop, Elaine Erwin, Ricky, Rhonda, Jennie and Jessie Flasowski, all of Crockett; special little friend, Caleb Anderson, of Crockett. Preceded in death by his parents Charlie Lee and Fannie Bell (Burns) Bradshaw; brothers Woody Bradshaw, Roy Bradshaw and Vernon Bradshaw; and sister Inez Winn. Funeral Services for Mr. Winward George “Win” Bradshaw were held Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jamie Allee officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crockett and Latexo Athletic Programs and Crockett Merchants Baseball and Softball.
